EU – Russia Road Infrastructure Event

The two-day event took place in Moscow on 27 – 28 November, 2008 as part of the SIMBA II project. It was jointly organized by FEHRL and the Russian Professional Association in Vehicle Prevention (PAIRP). The FEHRL institute experts (from DRI, EPFL, IBDiM, KTI, LCPC, VTI and ZAG) presented an overview of EU activities.



The first day of the event was devoted to technical visits to the Federal State Department responsible for road safety and the State Technical University MADI. The delegation from the EU had firsthand information of the national program set up to enhance road traffic safety during 2006 – 2012 and the success achieved as far.

At the State Technical University MADI, the delegation was received by the Vice Rector who took them for a tour of the automobile, materials and infrastructure laboratories.

A workshop was organized on the second day at the French Embassy in Moscow where EU and Russian experts discussed on research areas suitable for international cooperation.
