Green Paper on a Common Strategic Framework for future EU Research and Innovation Funding
The European Commission has presented a Green Paper proposing major changes to the EU research and innovation funding. The purpose is to make participation easier, increase the scientific and economic impact and provide better value for money. The proposed changes, to be introduced in the next EU budget after 2013, would bring together the current Framework Programme for research, the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.
The commission is looking for the point of views of all the interested parties on those proposed changes and on the specific question set out in the green paper. The contributions should be submitted by Friday 20th May 2011. A competition has also been organized in parallel for the name of the Common Strategic Framework.
The commission is offering different ways of contribution:
The received responses will be carefully analysed by the Commission services. They will be used to design the proposals to be presented by the Commission by the end of 2011, for a legislative decision of the Council and Parliament on the Common Strategic Framework.
