Transport Research Opportunities for South East Europe

Transport researchers from the Western Balkans region are invited to join SEE - TRANS 2011: an event co-organised by WBC-INCO.NET in cooperation with ETNA (European Transport Network Alliance), the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Slovenia and the University of Maribor (TEC).

SEETRANS aims at bringing representatives of the European transport research community together to discuss ideas for future cooperation – especially within the European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.

On the first day of this two-day event, researchers and researching organisations will have a chance to present their expertise and research interests. The activities on the second day will concentrate the exchange of information on concrete project ideas and the development of strategies to realise collaborative projects – within the framework programme or by making use of other relevant platforms. This will take place in a series of parallel workshops focussing on thematic issues which will be defined according to information collected from registered participants prior to the event.

After the event, the European network of Transport NCPs will provide participants with further active support in the dissemination of the partner search data generated by the event (project ideas and descriptions of expertise).

The SEETRANS 2011 agenda and registration form are available at the following address:

http://www.transslo-plus.si/en/

Deadline for registration is the 25th of March 2011. Participants are kindly asked to fill-in the registration form and send it to the following address

fg.tec@uni-mb.si

Participation in the event is free of charge – however, registration is mandatory.
During the networking and brokerage event, participants looking for partners will be given the opportunity to present their organisations and ideas for project proposals in two different ways:

  • In written form using templates specially designed for this purpose (see the documents for download – “Profile Form” and “Partner Search Form”). Ideas for project proposals and profiles of organisations submitted prior to the event will be displayed on pin boards for all participants to read. Parties interested in cooperating will be encouraged to leave behind a business card for the author of the document in question.
  • In the form of a brief oral presentation (using the template with recommendations provided – “Recommendation for Presentations”).
