INQUEST final seminar

The INQUEST (Information Network on QUiet European road Surface Technology) final seminar will take place on the 25th of April  (9 am - 4 pm) at Cankarjev Dom Congress and Cultural Centre in Ljubjana, Slovenia

The purpose of the workshop is to gather together current and potential users of road surface classification systems in Europe, namely road administrations and surface manufacturers, with the following three objectives:

  1. To exchange knowledge on the different classification schemes that are currently used in different EU Member States for tendering and procurement processes. In some cases these systems may also be used for conformity-of-production assessment and routine/periodic monitoring.
  2. To present the proposals for the common surface classification schemes developed within the EU Framework projects SILVIA1 (for use on rural roads) and SILENCE 2 (for use in urban conditions).
  3. To initiate an end-user group with the aim of promoting debate and discussion to establish a common classification method that might potentially form the basis of a future CEN standard.
