INROADS project final conference to be held in parallel to FEHRL Infrastructure Research Meeting 2015 (FIRM15)

In parallel to next week's FEHRL Infrastructure Research Meeting 2015 (FIRM15), there will be the final conference of the INROADS project. This €4 million FP7 project aims to develop intelligent lighting applications, focussing on self-powered, wireless, LED road studs that can improve safety at low cost when compared to standard lighting options. Representatives of the project will present information on the applications considered, the technical challenges faced, information on the human factors work and simulation experiments to determine the effectiveness of the applications, details of the trials undertaken and plans for the future. INROADS videos produced

Among the results to be presented will be three videos which correspond to the Human Factors and Photometry conducted at CIDAUT test track facilities in Spain, with the following dual objective:

1) To measure the luminance performance of INROADS active studs with an instrumented vehicle and special equipment (photometry study) & 

2) To analyse drivers behaviour, opinions and feelings about INROADS active studs, using an instrumented vehicle (human factors study)
