FEHRL in CVIS project to develop enabling technologies for greater transport efficiency

The new EC-supported CVIS integrated project kicked-off on March 14th 2006 with a two-day meeting in Brussels. With a 41€ million budget distributed over four years, the project will focus on cooperative vehicle infrastructure systems, technologies, combinations and scenarios that offer the greatest potential, and can be best exploited for traffic management and information systems.

FEHRL is seeking to link CVIS with its clustering programme and, specifically to create effective synergies with other FEHRL ITS related projects. These are INTRO –integrating systems and technologies to address road safety and capacity issues - and HeavyRoute - developing systems for optimising performances of heavy good vehicles and their supporting infrastructures.

Led by ERTICO (a public/private partnership pursuing the development and deployment of Intelligent Transport Systems and Services), the CVIS consortium brings together 63 partners: FEHRL, 5T, ALCATEL, ASF, Bae SATC, BOSCH, Mizar Mediaservice, BMW, RACC, DfT, CRF, Daimler Chrysler, DLR, Efkon, Ericsson AB, Gatespace, CIT, Highways agency, Infoblu, LCPC, Kapsch Traficom, Logica CMG, Mapflow, Min.Vlaams.Gemeensch, Mizar, NAVTEQ, Peek, POLIS, PTV, Q-Free, Ramsys, Renault, Rijkswaterstaat, TRIALOG, Siemens, SINTEF, SRA, Technolution, Tele Atlas, Telecom Italia, TfL, Thetis S.p.A, Thomas Miller, TNO FEL, Vialis, Vodafone, Volvo, CTS, ERICSSON Microwave, ETSI, AVVC, HTW-Saarland, MM Lab (ex Alcatel), INRIA, Heudiasyc UTC/CNRS, ISMB, Intempora, Provincie Brabant, HSVV, TELCORDIA,  ATC Bologna, LACROIX traffic, Communaute urbaine de Lyon.
