European Commission publishes Horizon 2020 measures

European Commission announces Horizon 2020 programmeOn 30th November 2011, the European Commission (EC) proposed a package of measures called Horizon 2020.  Horizon 2020 includes the next  research framework programme.



Horizon 2020 brings together all EU research and innovation funding under a single programme. Starting in 2014,  the €80B Horizon 2020 includes the programme for research and innovation, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), and the innovation-related parts of the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (CIP). 

Horizon 2020 will focus on three key objectives:

Part I “Excellent science”;

Part II “Industrial leadership”;

Part III “Societal challenges”.

Smart, green and integrated transport is one of the major pillars of the societal challanges  and includes a specific activity on smart equipment, infrastructures and services.
