New Road Construction Concepts (NR2C) is an innovation project of the European Commission. The project has to provide future-oriented initiatives for problems of accessibility and issues related to the road infrastructure, in dialogue and cooperation with external partners such as special interest groups, experts and users. NR2C develops long-term perspectives and concrete trial projects and demonstrations, in which long-term visions and ideas are linked to short-term action. ‘Dialogue and cooperation’, ‘Creativity and innovation’ and ‘Short-term and long-term’ are the main ingredients of NR2C. NR2C is a quest to find conceptual and technical solutions for mobility and transport demands of the future with special attention for the hardware related aspects of road engineering. The design (tuning the road to its environment), construction, maintenance and rehabilitation (technical and engineering aspects) of roads in the future are the main issues addressed in NR2C. Advances in external transport-related technology like traffic management systems and intelligent vehicles will be taken into account only when such developments have consequences for the design and construction of the road. In this context, NR2C’s research projects proposed in this document claim to be an important deepening and completion of the wider strategic research programs of ERTRAC, FEHRL and ECTP in the field of road engineering. An outline of the most urgent research projects in the field of road engineering completes this document.

The similarity algorithm calculates how much two contents in the system are similar to one another. So far, similarity is calculated based on similarity of the project type, area of interest and user type. Generally, if two contents have more parameters in common they are more similar to each another. More information.
