Traffic noise is one of the major environmental concerns within the European Union. More than 80% of the traffic noise pollution is generated from road traffic. The noise emission of the most common road vehicles is nowadays dominated by tyre/road noise in the speed range above 30 km/h. In order to develop low-noise pavements test methods to quickly assess the noise emission properties of the surfaces has been standardized. The draft standard ISO/CD 11819-2 (CPX, Close-ProXimity) presents a flexible method based on trailer measurements of the near-field noise emitted by a set of test four tyres. Recently a new tyre has been introduced into the measurement sets. The present paper shows the results of CPX measurements carried out by arsenal research at ten different locations in three different countries (Slovenia, Slovakia and Czech Republic) during the summer of 2008. This research focused especially on the typical pavements in the EU New Member States and on the noise emission of the new ASTM tyre in comparison to the previous standard tyre. The research has been carried out within the EU project SPENS (Sustainable Pavements for European New member States). More information to be found here

The similarity algorithm calculates how much two contents in the system are similar to one another. So far, similarity is calculated based on similarity of the project type, area of interest and user type. Generally, if two contents have more parameters in common they are more similar to each another. More information.
