In the context of WP5 (“Research programmes and Roadmaps benchmarking”) of the DETRA project, a database has been developed to collect and analyse documents concerning Roadmaps and Research Programmes of the Transport Area.

The first task within the first Work Package (WP1) of the DETRA project is to collect the activities related to the Mobility and Training of young researchers .

To mark the start of this year's EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), the Architects Council of Europe (ACE) and the European Concrete Platform (ECP) have launched a multilingual sustainable construction glossary.

The Programme committee has just launched the second announcement for the fourth Transport Research Arena, TRA 2012, to take place in Athens, Greece, from 23rd–26 th April 2012, calling for abstracts/papers and special sessions.

The Transportation Research Board (TRB) will hold a webinar on 5th May 2011 called  "Communicating the Value of Research: A Focus on Successful State DOT Practices and Case Studies".

FEHRL will have a 15 m² booth at the exhibition of the International Transport Forum 2011 (ITF) Annual summit in Leipzig, Germany, from 25-27th May 2011. The booth will promote the Forever Open Road programme with a poster and mockup of a "bridge", as well as other ongoing FEHRL projects.

The European Commission has launched a competition for people to suggest a new name for the next EU Research and Innovation Programme by midnight on 10th May 2011.

On 28th March 2011, the European Commission (EC) adopted a comprehensive strategy called Transport 2050 for a competitive transport system that it claimed will increase mobility, remove major barriers in key areas and support growth and employment.

Today FEHRL is making the first announcement for the Road Research meeting to be held on 18-20th October 2011 in Brussels. The meeting is aimed at stakeholders looking for solutions and willing to implement the latest cost-efficient research, as well as scientists, entrepreneurs and engineers with new ideas to promote and researchers to share and disseminate findings.
